What did you do to your van today?

Not today but over weekend. Made a support to mount my small chest freezer and Inverter Microwave. It's a 700w unit and draws 1090w on maximum output powered by my 1500w sinewave inverter. Lower settings will draw less power.

Having some success with my snag list...
Identified before sale and agreed to be paid for by seller:
Toilet flush pump sized- could unseize it with small screwdriver but a new one would be better.
Main Shurflo pump running continually with water switched on. No leaks or dribbly taps evident.
Found after sale or mods I want:
T piece in gas bottle line to make changeover quicker/simpler
Fit TPMS system - Jansite
De-crud roof
Fix flyscreen above kitchen.
Thorough clean interior
Fix windscreen washers - not squirting.
Adjusted reversing camera so I could see rear step instead of following traffic
Seller agreed to refund me the cost of a thetford pump and the control panel = £100
Now bought off ebay. Decided to fiddle with existing seized pump and unseized it and replaced the blown 3amp fuse hidden in the cassette locker - now working
Investigated the continually running shurflo pump and sorted airlock in supply to Truma water heater - now shutting off ok
T piece installed between regulator and bottles - sorted
Kitchen flyscreen and blind superglued and fixed - sorted
Roof cleaned and ready for Solar panel install.
Bought new windscreen washer jets to replace knackered ones
Reversing camera adjusted - sorted
Fitted new smoke and carbon monoxide alarm - Kidde - sorted
Moved small table storage from behind offside backrest to wardrobe for easier retrieval- sorted
Fitted fire extinguisher - sorted.
Been a busy couple of days and the list grows as I find more... like the missing tool that goes through the rear bumper to unwind the spare wheel.
Cap missing off windscreen washer bottle.
Catch on pan store below cooker dropped off glass door as was only siliconed on
No doubt there's more...
K ;)

Aye there was more, so today...
Superglued plastic thetford exhaust grid behind outside cover so the cover now pops off as intended instead of ripping the grid off.
Moved a shelf in the rearmost cupboard so I can now store water bottles.
Fitted TPMS - Jansite
Fitted seat covers to front seats to protect them.
Received spare wheel tool so gave winder a quarter turn so wheel is sitting tight again, was wobbling around.
K ;)

New washer jets didn't sort problem... turns out there's a wee diaphragm inside the "Y" piece which was fubared.
Modified fiamma bike rack (bits missing and we don't have bikes anyway) so it's ready for a storage box...
Fixed outside shower/ boot cleaner - we don't have a dog now 😞
Fitted new cap to windscreen washer bottle.
Fitted last of the LED bulbs - only the light in the shower room to do now but I can't get the cover off - grrr...
Can't get away until 21st so still finding jobs
K 🤔

M/Home in for major service and replacement of offside door mirror. The timing belt/water pump and ancillaries replacement will require a follow up appointment in 2-3 weeks because the engine requires a specific tool to bolt the flywheel and the garage needs to order one. I think the JTD engines could have the timing belt changed by just marking the settings on flywheel and crank case, but not the Euro 5 and later engines. 2 large bills in the offing instead of one bloody huge invoice ...

Attention to the mirror change. Later vans include the ambient temperature sensor on the passenger side. This sensor is very important in the particle filter cleaning. Aftermarket mirrors do not include this sensor.

I specified the mirror with the sensor, thanks. Certain after-market mirrors [not the cheapo versions] have the sensor ready wired.

Update: The garage Parts Suppliers sent the wrong mirror, and they're trying to track down the correct version! I am waiting for Maxi Mover Van Converters to phone me back to see if they have one in stock. Seems the good old Supply Chain issues have resurfaced now that we have let Europe; there are several Mirror Suppliers/Van Converters advertising both FIAT original mirrors [worth more than the M/Home ...] and guaranteed copies of the OEM, but all are reporrting 'Out of Stock'.

So, at this stage, no timing belt change and no door mirror replacement, so just a full service to pay for ... IF Maxi Mover have a mirror in stock, the retail price is £315 plus delivery [around £5], considerably cheaper than the FIAT Genuine, but still flimsy, original ...

The Mirror price is £315+ VAT, so £378 in total; delivery is free, but, despite placing the order just before 11:00am [cut-off time for Next Day Delivery is 11:30am], 'the DHL man has been and gone', so the mirror will be posted tomorrow and delivered direct to the garage - allegedly! I entered the Cardholder Address and selected a different delivery address, entering the garage details; but, the email order confirmation says delivery will be both to my address and that of the garage ... I phoned back to the man who told me that the DHL man had been and gone, and he was quite relaxed, and confirmed verbally that delivery would be to the garage. Since I have had a Nymphomaniac's Week, where between them, Halifax B.Soc, Bank of Scotland, NHS Fife, Patient Access Tech Support, local contractors for the house refurb, E.on's 'Energy Support Team' and the garage's usual Suppliers [sent the wrong mirror, and don't have the right one ...] have staggered from one cock up straight to the next, I am by no means certain that the mirror will be delivered to the garage by DHL . On the other hand, 4 fingers and a thumb, and the faint possibility that the mirror delivery will go smoothly (y)

In other words Steve, nothing much happened today. You need a little excitement in your life.
You know, enough to ease the tedium, and get the blood pumping.

The blood pumps enough when dealing with outfits like E.on, Halifax/Bank of Scotland/NHS Fife IT staff et al; the challenge is reducing the blood pressure. Deducting the amount of the mortgage payment from the previous balance and then adding the mortgage interest to the residual debt to give the new outstanding balance should be a basic competence, but it appears to be beyond the ability of the [allegedly] trained staff. Unfortunately, the training doesn't happen, the employees are being made redundant, left, right and centre, whilst the different computer systems of Halifax, Lloyds and Bank of Scotland do not link efficiently. The Bank is cynical enough to slash headcount, deskill the remaining employees, and then pay out compensation when the inevitable mistakes occur. E.on are equally bad, but they don't pay compensation - total charlatans

Just be glad it's not coming by Yodel

Compulsive gamblers send themselves a tenner by Yodel...

Haven't had a problem with Yodel [Evri?]; Fedex are worse - the drivers are not allowed phones in the Van and there is no Parcel Tracking system e.g. Courier delivering Parcel 42, you are delivery 73'. Fedex missed the 0900-1300 slot and the estimated delivery time then changed to 'by 6pm today' - Compressor arrived at 15:15. DHL delivered a package earlier than the time window, but placed it out of sight at the rear of the property as requested, and placed the parcel at almost perfect right angles to the brick platform - obviously placed with care and attention. Post Office Parcel Services had received our parcel at Edinburgh over the weekend, and we are less than 2 miles from the Sorting Office. Parcel delivered after 8pm, hving being estimated as 'before 6pm', and I had hoped that with the parcel arriving at Kirkcaldy Sorting Office at 0723, we might get delivery during the morning. I can cope with disappointment ...

Decided to upgrade my Fire Extinguisher I keep by the Hab Door (Keep it there for quick access if needed outside as well as it).
I did have this one there ...

Old Extinguisher
But it was quite a limited use unit in fact and it will be out of date in a few months time anyway.

Have now fitted this Firexo 'All in One' Extinguisher which can deal with a much wider range of incidents

It is stated as for use against all fire types, and does state "Multipurpose Extinguisher for ALL FIRES inc. Li-ion Battery Fires!", so could be an initial defense for those batteries used in Scooters, e-Bikes, Drones and what have you?

I got this last week, but I see it is on an "Amazon Prime Day" deal today and is a fiver cheaper at the moment - see here - https://amzn.to/461PGAe

In my experience deliveries by Yodel are a lottery... if they deliver at all it is likely to be to a distant door ( often not even in the same postcode) they have left parcels in a "safe place" which can be a doorstep on a public footpath or once a semi detelict farm building. I have seen proof of delivery photos which were just the parcel label with no background... all of these problems are down to the driver. But contact Yodel and I get told the parcel has been delivered and have even had a suggestion I check with my neighbours - Useless they are.
Evri are better than they used to be and DPD, UPS APC Prime etc are all normally fine.
