Watching crows worrying a buzzard

Reminds me of a morning on the Pembrokeshire coast. I watched five crows worrying a peregrine falcon who had caught and was trying to feed, on a pigeon. They scared him off and devoured the pigeon whereupon the falcon appeared in a dive from the heavens as the crows lifted off. He took one crow and killed it outright and fed on that. The others flew off. Now that did make me smile- a lot!

Seemed unusual to me, because the crows have no young yet - must be instinct I suppose

They were beside National Cycle Route 6 by Luton Hoo estate. A huge embankment carries the link road from the M1 into Luton airport here and these beauties were reclaiming the spot in the name of Nature.

Our moho passing its annual habitation check without issue- good old british engineering- unlike the two german efforts that failed theirs miserably at the same dealership!!! We need a 'gloat' button as well as a 'groan' one!

The look on my wife's face when I handed her the rustic butter knife I made this morning from an old railway spike using my coke forge and anvil. 20180216_142040.jpg
