Would you buy a new EVan, with 300 is mile rang?

My Kia provides live location info via their app, it’s really handy, I can tell when swmbo is on her way home from her various needlework clubs, it also logs each journeys duration time and average speed.

The fact the car is an EV is irrelevant this feature is standard across the range afaik.
This info would probably be adequate for a road pricing model, yes a dishonest minority would find ways to defeat the data, probably the same people that drive like ****s are unlicensed uninsured, no mot, on false plates and drive away from petrol stations without paying.

However it would not be impossible to modify the ANPR system to also flag vehicles transmitting invalid or no data in near real time.

Obviously the absolute best feature would be the ability to disable vehicles in real time as well, no more high risk adrenaline filled excitement for the police versus extreme risk to the innocent public during some of there absurdly dangerous red mist high speed chases.

It would take about 95% of videos off YouTube though so Google would be dead against it as they’d loose money!

The Ford hybrid has the electronics underneath the ICE mechanics, which can leak pil and water.
Makes a wet belt seem like a sensible idea in comparison.
Not content with wet belts and pouring water on to the current model FC43203A-30D6-4C82-9CCE-4D86EAB5ECC5.jpegTransit ECU, I expect they will find a way to channel the windscreen water on to the battery.

Very common for vehicle manglefactyrers to place electronics in puddles, the Rover 75 engine ecu was located in the plenum, the birds mouth valves regularly became blocked with leaves and the entire thing would flood, first the owner would know was erratic behaviour of stuff connected to the canbus or total failure to start.

My bmw F11 has a persistent and to date untraceable leak in the boot first time I knew was when the relay that operated the air suspension compressor disintegrated, it did flag the problem before the water reached more important stuff.

The bmw also suffers from a notorious big yellow bung in the plenum that leaks and floods the interior

Those of us with Franken Crafters/Sprinter know to regularly check the valve in the base of the pollen filter housing otherwise water enters the blower housing.

Water ingress into copper cables soon turns the copper black and brittle, which can play havoc especially with abs units!

My 1983 Mercedes has a leaky sun roof. The water is supposed to run down a pipe past the boot and on to the ground. However, apparently they made the pipe from steel tubing so of course it rusts inside a box section next to the rear door B frame, above the boot. So it leaks into the boot, into one of the side troughs each side of the flat loading platform. The solution is to just drill a hole at the bottom of each trough and let tit drain out. Smear grease around the hole of course so it doesn't rust.
If I could find a way to seal the sun roof that would fix it. I have no use for a sun roof. Being bald, I want neither to be sunburnt nor do I want to get wet when I am driving. I won't fill the joint with silicone sealant, but maybe fill it with silicone grease would do the trick.
