Weather Report..................

Well think it’s because we’re not there having made quite an exciting escape so no righteous for the sun to shine on, but today in Palm Desert it’s just 13 degrees. This is astonishingly low for the time of year, should be nearer 30. Not only that, but some sunny days coming for up here at the weekend.

Herts was covered in drizzle this morning.
So I've moved about 1½ tonnes of logs which have been seasoning for about 10 years to a location where it will be much easier to carry them into the house next winter.
And it's still drizzling.
Very refreshing.

Poetic justice, Colin ?
It's good to hear that you pensioners are heeding the advice to keep active.
It clouded over as I took first sip of the the inaugural G&T. I'm a battler... I soldiered on .The Sun's now melting the the cube

I didn’t realise there was a G&T season, there’s us breaking the rules all these years ....................

Rules ..
Pernod is only worth drinking if you can see the Mediterranean.
Brandy is medicine if drank in winter conditions.. any temperature below 16C is winter..
Fruit is pudding .. Pudding is consumed after a meal. G and T with lemon is therefore classed as pudding.

If you are in mosquito country, G&T has quinine in it and is therefore classed as medicine.. the lemon is classed as part of of your 4 a day fruit and veg and is good for you.
I hope this helps.
The weather forecast says we're having 3 hours of steady Drizzle.. From 9 pm. So why am I sitting outside, drinking red wine. ( Portuguese medicine ) , under a clear, starry sky..
Mustn't grumble.
The current red wine smells and tastes like brandy..
I blame the weather forecasters.
Goodnight.

It's light grey in Hertfordshire this morning with the slightest of breezes and an air temperature of 6°C.
The high pressure is set to build and some great weather is predicted for the coming days.
So today I'll clear the gutters..........................and then go for a bike ride!

Wall to wall blue sunshine, 4 Degrees. A few fine days forecast. We’d like to get out somewhere remote in the van but some say we shouldn’t. Can’t see what harm we’d do as completely stocked with food and water and no need for any human contact. ☀️☀️☀️

My feeling is that if you've no need for any more human contact than you would have if staying at home, then frankly I can't see any reason why you shouldn't go for a trip, Bill.
After all, if you were to stay at home you or Suzie would, as a minimum, need to go out for provisions and have limited contact with others.
I've heard the argument that if away and one were to need assistance that puts others in unnecessary contact, but equally problems could occur at home. It's all a matter of balancing risk. We haven't yet been asked to self isolate unless showing coronavirus symptoms - we've been asked to minimise contact with others and maximise the distance in between.
I go for bike rides in the countryside and see that as being no different to the kind of trips out in your Moho that you describe.

Thanks Colin, I think that makes sense. We don’t even plan to use sites so have no contact with anyone, the big clubs appear to have their sites open but that of course involves contact with someone.

Enjoy your trip out, Bill!

Mr Sun has arrived. Out with the loungers (y)
💚But not too💚.
Damp grey dawn, not no overnight rain. The goatherd was right.
Drizzle started as we left to go up to the big town for a recce.

Just back from a shopping expedition to Sao Bras. .
Like a ghost town and everyone under 40 wearing masks and gloves. Apart from a little queues, we managed to get all that we needed for the next week.
Proper thunderstorm now..
What more could we ask for ?

Well its been a lovely sunny day if a little cool in the wind. Enjoyed a nice self isolated day fishing, no closer than 3 metres to any living soul the whole day. That said, I've never seen my favourite trout fishery so busy on a weekday, that said I'm still only talking a maximum of 10 fishermen spread over 3 lakes. Lets hope Boris doesn't need to get anymore draconian so that we can keep doing sensible things. If it helps, Bill, we still plan to go to our fishing CL (about 40 miles away) in a couple of weeks time, assuming that a) we are fit and healthy, b ) there isn't a complete lockdown and c) the CL still wants us to come. I should also just point out that as we are reasonably close to home we will not pose a threat to local services if taken ill as we both drive the van.
