Italian Gadabout

Easily done, Rog..
They are professional thieves.
They lie in wait near pressure points, where tired and stressed travellers are concentrating on other things.
Skilled operators.!

We've been lucky, being Yorkshire.
Our first thought is, " Ow mooch ? "
Your best bet, ( not having a resident Tyke on board), is to Give Chris total control of the money, when travelling, especially near borders.
She'll check with you , before handing out any cash.
At least you've made a contribution to the local economy.. But not to the local Tax authorities..
Also get your phone out and ostentatiously dial 112..
He won't hang about to see if the cops come.

.
He just caught us at the wrong time Paul. The trouble was he was very plausible, and we were very stressed.
We have just about started seeing the funny side of it, but I wouldn’t fancy his chances if Chris ever got hold of him again. Never mind, we are still in one piece, and that’s the main thing! Take care xx

The rain finally eased off today, and we got the chance to have a jolly good look around Paestrum. Very fascinating, with large description boards, with English explanations, of what we were looking at.
The amphitheatre had the main entrance, with two side entrances for the public, and an exit on the other side for the corpses of the people that were having a particularly bad day!

I'm really interested to know where you are staying this evening Rog. I wanted to camp in the woods beside Paestum, night and quiet. She wanted to be beside the sea. 🙂 So we trundled off to the sea at Camping Opollo - Worst night's sleep ever. ☹️

We have been here N40.4184, E15.0075 for two nights now. They charge €10 per night, but only supply water.
Search for Sites claimed that all services were available, but clearly something has changed. We are about 300m from the ticket office. Gates locked at night, very peaceful nights sleep (apart from my snoring it seems).

Where are the keys, Terry.. ?
We've booked flights, and can do with a cheap holiday.
It's getting too warm and dry here, for the next 5 months.

Looks a little run down to me..

Anyone know a good cheap, local builder, looking for work ?

Nothing much to report today, we are still at Cassino, still halfway up a mountain and still enjoying the views and the fresh air! Tonight will be our third night here, we have all we need, fresh water, cassette disposal, peace and quiet and very warm sunshine. This morning at 11am it was 27c, at 4pm it was 31c and now we have 28c. Lord above knows what the temp was in the heat of the mid day sun. Might leave here Monday…..

When I visited the town of Cassino over 50 years ago (in my car) there was a Sherman tank on a raised plinth. I wonder if it's still there. 🤔

Haven’t seen it so far, we have discovered the Military War Graveyard, but that’s about it. We are toying with the idea of driving up the mountain tomorrow to the monastery, which apparently was a WW2 site, so maybe it’s up there?
