Italian Gadabout

We have now arrived at Anagni, which is about an hour closer to Rome from Cassino. The village here is medieval and well preserved, bit like me really, it’s very hilly, either up or down, but no flat anywhere!
Today we had a quick scout around, but will leave Max in the van tomorrow for a serious walk around the old town.CA6F8D53-849C-4145-B24B-0261160A44C8.jpeg61D94896-8344-4933-BE16-3AAB1B393DF4.jpegF2EBF144-312C-4516-BC63-5BE6B95B8A39.jpegA934F072-982B-452C-B0ED-C195098BA418.jpeg

We are 35 mins from you now Rog in a place called Ceprano.

Off to Pompei tomorrow...

Thanks Rog (y)

Today was so interesting. We left Max in the van, and put our best mountain goat legs on, and trundled off to the ‘old’ town. They have managed to mix the new into the old seamlessly, and even the medieval houses are still lived in and the odd one or two are for sale. The streets are basically alleyways with steep steps, working their way down to the main roads through the town, which arguably are not wide enough for two cars. The whole town is virtually pedestrianised, fabulous for a slow meander.9F6B1754-CA1B-47D1-B907-EA271F9BEB60.jpeg9AC57CB6-2D22-45B5-B5C1-F9AF0A040CB7.jpeg5E449587-C08A-4171-B234-63584FE4046B.jpeg9D35F14B-F32E-47EF-80AE-03E2FACBB151.jpeg660CDE1E-9613-43A3-BE73-066DA1E6659A.jpeg

If you (GMJ) are going to Camping Zeus, remember it is close to the station which is good if you want to head into Naples, but equally good for the scrotes travelling from Naples looking for easy tourist pickings outside the station and entrance to Pompeii. Just be aware and enjoy.

Thanks

We are only in Pompei for 2 nights and plan to stay at Camping Spartacus but have Zeus and Fortuna on our reserve list in case Soartacus is full. We'll only be visiting Pompei on this trip but thanks for the warning anyway.

Thanks you two, wise words indeed. Hope you’re both keeping well, long time no see.

We had the wonderful company of a German couple at Anagni and were very sorry to leave them yesterday. We headed in the direction of Rome but couldn’t get into any sostas, parking areas or campsites. We tried five different places, and nobody would take us in for one night, so we ended up pulling into a picnic area on the motorway, just to get some sleep. How were we to know what sort of a lay-by it was!
Anyway, we have given Rome a complete miss and are now parked at Montalto Marina, absolutely beautiful and absolutely free. 25c already!CC487F70-89C2-4C53-8457-A1761852B6CD.jpeg53A34BCB-8FC2-4D73-8A57-9A8434F5F0E4.jpegD080CAFF-E216-421F-A5CF-6EF724FD6141.jpeg

With my focus being on the solar setup on rear of MH image Roger submitted, there are also a mega amount of panels on the roof, extreme solar panel porn!!!

Ps, the Lakia must have a hole 🕳️ in the floor, see where toilet cassette is situated, no need for a SOG unit 😂

It's Labour Day in Italy today Rog so I guess the long weekend got loads of people out and about.

We made it to Sicily unscathed Rog. All we need now is some nice weather. It was lovely on Sunday when we got here but rained from midday yesterday and didn't stop all day!
