Prostate Cancer

Bastard$ gave me another parking charge notice this morning, no disabled place left at 08:30 so I parked as much out of the way as possible, put my badge on it's really is nasty when there were two builders vans next to me.

I got in OK today, felt crap when I got up so just set off early lots of spaces, but tomorrow its a later appointment.

Back from my zapp this morning, free get out of goel parking ticket at Belfast city horsepiddle.
One more zapp friday and of to monday afternoon to continue, the we nurses are nice. ;)

I started to feel very fatigue around end of week 2 of radiotherapy, but I was being zapped in 2 place prostrate and lymph glands. Total of 20 treatments each area,
But it was all worth while, keep strong guys
Kicking cancers arse.

Yes fatigue is an issue at this time of the morning, I try to have a 30 minute nap midday, but it's impossible round here, the world won't stop just because I'm tired.

Later app today so I am taking Liz in case I can't park again, I don't need the stress of yet another ticket.

Have you tried lignocaine gel for the sore area....sometimes the radiotherapists can get it prescribed. It numbs the area. Good luck with it all.... especially the parking!

Doc gave me some steroidal cream, which is like magic, but only twice a day for seven days, so I only use it when I really need it. My toilet habits mean I don't need to do an enema most days. I go before the kettle goes on most days, and again, when I get to the hospital, when they do a CT scan, they say I'm okay to continue.

Only 9 more to do now so on the downhill side.

At last, I've finished with the radiotherapy now, no more green poo, and feeling crap all day.
Well done for completing the course, 💪💪💪💪
I was told by a nurse that lots of people give up after a few days.
Now give your body time recover take it easy...
Well done .

I did consider giving up, the treatment is totally painless, side effects to the bowel and bladder can be bad as they were for me, but the real issue for some is the enemas every day, I was sort of lucky in that I'm almost ready to go when I get up and again a couple of hours later so I only needed the ghastly enema stuff 4-5 times altogether, but on Monday I was really bad, something triggered my bowels to spasm so I went total of 10 time in one day to say I was distraught doesn't cover it, I could barely sit down, I just took my laptop to bed and was semi-supine all day.

But, in terms of cancer, this is the pussy version for most of us if caught early enough, there are far worse cancers out there and I am grateful not to have got one of those.

I've been getting discomfort when attempting to pee day or night, it's gotten worse since the radiotherapy, I ran them on Friday and left a message, they got back to me yesterday after I rang the oncologists sexy terry, she said to take a couple of Ibuprofen a day until it all goes back to normal, now why TF did they not tell us this when I told them I was in discomfort? it has made a massive difference to the peeing, not to the flow etc but there is no stress or discomfort.

Im getting back to almost normal now, loose bowel the odd time but i can now use my water pistol pretty well. :)

A little update

Oncology/urology just rang they are happy with the PSA results 0.03 and they are putting me onto the hormone tablet now which I have to take every day for the next 14 months, it also transpires that the hormone jabs are possibly responsible for the hip problems and I have to have a Dexter Scan to look at me bones.

I try to get off the motorway when needing a pee but have had to stop on hard shoulder a couple of times. Never had call from boys in blue so what would be the result if questioned about stopping. Tried numerous pills to no avail and it is intermittent so no planning how long between stops and then there are road works, accidents or whatever to add to the equation.

Have you had a diagnosis Harry?

Nothing one could put a name to but the pills have always been prescribed by a doctor though I do not remember any recognisable disease being referred to though it is getting worse so maybe I should be seen again. I will ring in the morning, It is no use this late in the day.

Finger up the bum time, ugh I hate that, but it's the first and best call, then a dodgy PSA blood test and go from there, Biopsy is no biggy, I stressed over that as some git said it was horrendous hardly felt a thing first and second time, and you get to cuddle a nurse.
