First thing today Hertfordshire was awash.
As the morning progressed things improved and now it's dry with patches of blue up above.
So I've ordered an 8 speed Sturmey Archer hub to replace the current 3 speed hub on the Brompton. The wider range and much lower gearing at the bottom end of the range should make the hills slightly more comfortable.
Old age brings us all different challenges, I guess.

Damp and overcast in Sarlat this morning but the rain is holding off. Going down to the market and then moving onto Souillac for a couple of days before heading back north for home .........

Too hot for serious gardening... 31 in the shade, by 10.30.
Just pottered .
High spot of the day was when a huge Blue/black Carpenter Bee ... Think miniature Lancaster Bomber .... buzzed us during lunch.
I thought I'd felt rain drops on my bare shoulder, under the parasol..

Has anybody else ever been pi55ed on by a bee?
Is it supposed to be lucky ?

It's grey in Herts right now but the sun is forecast to join us this afternoon.
So I'll fit a cyclocomputer to the Brompton so that I know just how slowly I make progress.
