What did you do to your van today?

When I got the big lithium battery I took out the useless oven above the fridge and replaced it with a microwave, because the microwave isn’t meant to be built in I made a vent to fit around it and of course the cabinet vents through the old oven chimney, recently David posted about a microwave with flat plate technology & a grill so I have purchased one & fitted that needed a slightly different saddle vent so while fabricating that I have fitted a 12v fan in the centre , will fit this after the MOT tomorrow 🤞🤞🤞🤞IMG_2651.jpeg

Got Moho back from getting engine serviced. It suffered from diesel smoke higher up in revs, was meant to have been serviced before I bought it by dealership but was just oil change, so got the local garage to run a fuel system cleaner, eng oil flush , change all filters and eng oil, turns out fuel and air filt were dirty. Now it pulls really well with no smoke, happy days - couldn't be bothered doing it myself.

I was going to suggest changing the air filter but ye have had that done.

New MOT [1 month early to allow time for any repairs!], but sailed through with no advisories - woohoo! Car MOT a week today will be a different story, with a repair bill of minimum £700 for new brake discs and pads all round, and possibly 2 new tyres ...

Next trip will be to Camper UK Lincoln on 28th November for the floor delamination [aprtial] Warranty Repair on 2nd December. We have to pay £1700 towards the cost, and with 2 lots of train fares from Scotland to Lincoln Return, the bill should glide past the £2,000 mark with barely a whisper ... And then there's the Ferry fare for Spain for mid-January to pay for. I'm on a one ma mission to reflate the UK economy within 3 months ... :ROFLMAO:

Started doing TV shelf conversion, did away with the crappy plastic box and cut facia down so I will have a top and bottom cupboard with a shelf for TV to sit on / in. Ive a bigger TV so factory set up looked naff. Also moved socket that used to be for TV to a more accessible place.

Gave the chassis a good oiling.
I used clear waxoil and only ever had to do it once. The mot station said it was no problem as they can still see if there are any pipe oil leaks for the break system.

I've an auld singer sowing machine in the workshop.

I use a treader singer sewing machine.
Ok for canvas leather and pvc plastics . Thats what we made our safari awning with.

And heavy weight upholstery material like when we made all the new covers for the Moho.

i have my mums auld singer in a cabinet just like this she had it for her 21st birthday so that would have been 1942 had it adapted from the treadle with an electric motor all there just not got a clue how to use it it’s got the catalogue and the tool kit with it but the walnut veneer on the fold out table is a mess it unscrews so i could send it off to be repaired some time IMG_2037.jpeg

Down on the right it where the wee spool goes to load it up, put the tread into the slot and that weaves back and fourth loading the spool which then fits into the shuttle. Draw the thread forward then return back to the centre. The shuttle is housed under the chrome cover down by the needle.

we have a friend that worked the hosiery as a designer she’s away at the moment i’ll ask her to come over and give us a lesson by the time she’s done the six of them i’ll have it figured
