That a DIY job? Looks spot onGot carpet I cut bound round edges & laid in van to see how it is. Needs to settle but fits perfectly.
Where abouts are you? If you make templates and buy the carpet you like, it's a guy in Aberdeen who does the binding. That a DIY job? Looks spot on
I'm planning on redoing my floor this spring. Might have to send you some templates to make rugs for![]()

He's very good at his job and is realistic with his prices.
Aberdeen carpet binding company.
Can you not just make mats and fit them over original carpet?I'm in the Borders.
In the past I have used Harrison Trims (https://www.harrisonstrimsupplies.co.uk/), who are big in the VW scene and do great work at a good price. My van is fully carpeted throughout, which I don't really like as very hard to keep clean.
The carpet fitted is actually super quality and no wear at all after 17 years down so can't complain in that respect, but I would prefer a hard floor so the plan is to remove original carpet, then fit hard flooring and then get removable mats which will be easier to clean.
I considered it but it would get too bulky. The bathroom door would jam, another couple of doors would not open and the mats would tend to move as that is what happens currently with the loose mats I have at the moment. And the carpets would still get a bit dirty just as they do now under the mats I have. Hard flooring is much better for a motorhome (IMO).Can you not just make mats and fit them over original carpet?
Our carpets are well overdue to be binned, we looked at new ones but far too expensive due to the need to have the edges whipped, so were thinking of getting new cab mats and the a couple of rubber backed runners, it's a 17 year old van, who cares.I considered it but it would get too bulky. Ours is 18 yrs old but still nice to have some pride in your home, all in for carpet and binding it cost £130 so for us it's well worth it as it made a massive difference to interior. Our carpets are well overdue to be binned, we looked at new ones but far too expensive due to the need to have the edges whipped, so were thinking of getting new cab mats and the a couple of rubber backed runners, it's a 17 year old van, who cares.
Would prefer darker than these.

Where did you get it done please? not a bad price that.Ours is 18 yrs old but still nice to have some pride in your home, all in for carpet and binding it cost £130 so for us it's well worth it as it made a massive difference to interior.
I made my own templates, bought carpet I wanted, then took templates and carpet along to a company called " Aberdeen carpet binders " .Where did you get it done please? not a bad price that.
I've a Girlfriend who's OCD & I'm only allowed to wear indoor slippers in moho.We stay on Aires most of the time and the surface is either small grade gravel or packed earth/dust. Muck and small stones find their way into the Van and would ruin the original carpets. We have the wooden floor, with 3 x Aldi Lightweight Grey Mats @ £4.99 each to catch the worst of the dust, grit and stones. A quick shake each day and 2 minutes with the dustpan and brush is enough to keep the hab area robustly clean. The rest can wait until we are home and can clean properly
