What did you do to your van today?

Will soon be covered in road salt as we are forecast for snow next week.

Filled up wae fuel and gas disinfected the dunny boxes. Cleaned the waste and freshwater tanks. Got my bike sorted and serviced for free at Halfords today winner winner.

Swept out all the dried mud and grit that had been carriedin during the rain and sprayed vinyl reconditioner to the cab steps and foot rests to remove ingrained muck. Elaine adapted 2 ciat hangers as a clothes drier, using clothes pegs on the crossbar. She then used 2 more clothes pegs to clip the USB leads to the seatbelts to prevent the cables becoming tangled when the cab seats are rotated. Course, we're now short of clothes pegs ... 🤭
I suggested she write '101 Uses for a Clothes Peg,' but the first few involved attachment to various male protrusions ... 🙄

Filled the water ready for our next foray to Blackpool for house preparations. Whilst there we should also get the previously cancelled renovation by Tourershine completed.

Bought 5L of engine oil from Norauto Spain, who turned a simple transaction into a 3 act drama. Advertised at €41.60 instead of €54.00 but marked at the higher price in the store. 'You have to order online and click and collect for the discount ..'. The store is 300m from the Aire ... 'ok, I'll order online in this store and you can sell me the oil when your system alerts you. I can wait'.
'You have to register for an account to get the discount, using the Google App'
'I don't want to register another Google email A/c, I don't want to be bombarded with emails everyday, I just want to buy the bloody oil, and I don't want to be forced to use Google email, I prefer my own email, your systems are crap, and this is a dire way of conducting business. I just want to buy thecan of oil you are still holding ...'
Manager appears. 'Senor, I will sell you the oil at the online discount price, without you opening an account ...'
Elaine: 'Well, that was a fun way to spend an afternoon of our holiday. Can't think why everyone doesn't stop off at Norauto, Stephen ...' (Sunday name indicates I'm in bad books!)

Oh come on Steve, you know the only reason they want you to buy online is because they want your active email address.

Why not do what everyone else does and simply create a false account that you rarely use or look at. They are happy, you are happy, and more importantly, Elaine is happy. 😁

Elaine IS happy; as long as she can call me Mr Grumpy and point to a recent outburst to make her case ... 🤭

About 3 years ago SWMBO pushed the cigar lighter plug into the TV aerial / 12v supply socket a little aggressively, and ever since it has needed a knack to get it to make contact.

Today I removed & dismantled the socket (3 mins); identified the broken part and ordered a replacement (under £5).

I will fit the new one sometime in 2025/6 !

I don't procrastinate, I just think things through in detail.

'Procrastinate now ...'
'If it's all the same to you, I'd prefer to wait a wee while ...' 🙄

In a fit of enthusiasm, Elaine threw the sink plug away (fortunately we discovered its absence before despatching the bag to the Aire Bin ...)

So a trip to the Ferreteria to buy some chain, and a couple of keyring hoops to enable the plug and chain to be looped around the tap in both kitchen and bathroom (no provision for attaching the keyring to either sink)

It gets better. Sink plug retrieved, so Elaine decides to break fridge release catch; and then slams the door shut, so that we have no means of reopening it... Dometic RMLT 9435. If anyone has any ideas on how to open it again, I would appreciate them. The wee plastic release internal button has snapped off.
I have removed the handle surround and can see the sliding internal mechanism, but cannot get it release the catch
TIA

Managed to reopen the door! Grab the broken handle with needle pliers and pull to release the catch. Easy ...
