I'm still not certain whether I should reply to this Thread. Is there a 'Yes/No' button?

I never progressed beyond the first question in the 5 bob Yes/No interlude on 'Take Your Pick' because I invariably answered 'Well, yes and no, really' ...

Tied the broken fridge door shut with a series of eyehooks and cord, so that we don't have to play bondage when we need fresh milk ... Rammed car sponges and cloths behind the cord to maintain tension when travelling, and then unthread for site use because the magnetic seal still works.

Waiting for the Engineer to tell me if he can get a replacement door kit before going to his new workshop in Benicarlo

Yes/No interlude - Takes me back.

BTW it was 10 bob.
Given that a pint of beer was under two bob pack then I recon that is £20-£25 in today's money.

Taxed the van off SORN. checked tyres etc, half filled water. Will have a day out tomorrow and test fridge operates on 12v and gas ( already checked ok on EHU). Will test heating and water on gas after filling LPG tank.
Looking forward to the run out...

Greased the Locker locks which were beginning to creak ominously. The Hab Door has also been at least hesitant about its morning opening over the last 3 or 4 days, so took the inner handle off. Main spindle that links to the outside lock and the spring assembly were both bone dry. Packed as much grease as possible in and the mechanism has stopped creaking and straining, working at first push of remote, and the key operation is much gentler
 
Fitted a new Toptron crash protection unit controller. The old one had become a little too sensitive to walking around in the van and parking on a very slight slope and kept shutting the gas off.
 
Removed today's bread rolls from drivers seat, put out new note and money for tomorrow's order....will have to remember to start locking the van at night when we return to uk!
Washed off the Sahara dust AGAIN, not as much as previously but still orange streaks.
 
Noticed that the euphemistically named 'Papers Holder' (4 pieces of c1928 vintage knicker elastic which are no longer elastic, resulting in the paper falling out into the Hab footwell) was drooping sadly. Trip to Fereteria to buy a stapler, some replacement fixing screws and using the 'just in case' fabric tape bought on Friday to tie the broken fridge door, we have 3 Paper Holders instead of 2, and no droopy drawers! 🤭

Might have a go at the other side tomorrow ...

After 10 years my van perhaps needed an uplift to its finish so after seeing their work on Campervannie’s van I decided to book Tourershine. very pleased with result.
Early on in the process they pointed out the difference in finish, best seen through polaroid.

The radio is my MoHo has a built in USB stick player.
I have a stick with over 3,500 tracks of music.
Last week the radio refused to play the stick. "Media not Available":(

I looked at getting a replacement radio with lots of bells & whistles. (dab / sat nav / DVD / etc etc), prices from £250-£600.

SWMBO said "Get a new USB stick". I patiently explained it was the device and not the stick.
After much discussion and muttering, I bought a new stick and copied all my music onto it. Worked first time. :)

SWMBO is now demanding £245 -£595 of new clothes. :eek:

my SWMBO just read this and in her opinion is in total agreement not a happy bunny as I want a new radio
 
As we like totally different music, in our van we use the organic system which has millions of different tracks. I.e. think of a tune and hum it. Want another tune? Simple, just think of another... etc etc.
Saved me some money I think

Sourced the problem with an intermittent fault on the Alde heating controller ( broken feed wire) fitted a 3v backup to enable the controller to store settings, fixed the popper stud back onto the sliding door from cab to habitation area, gave a good clean externally to remove road salt from our journey to southern Ireland last week. Where to next?
