France/ Spain trip with possibly Portugal.

We are actually on the ferry!!! The health gods were definitely against us but the surgeon/consultant asked me today if I had insurance and then wished me a good holiday.
Comfortably ensconced in the commodore lounge drinking the complimentary wine. A day cruising tomorrow and then heading for the sunshine.
Hope to catch up with you somewhere

no very big portions on plates
And Reg left some ? OMG

BTW . Rob, Bonnie and me are driving slowly south in France. The intention is to travel clockwise around Spain, then into Portugal. So a meetup with us is going to be coincidental.
Oh! And it's his birthday today, so someone make a fuss. ATM he looks like he's sucked a lemon.

Well left Fuengirola castle and went to the Aire at Mijas, managed to empty and top up, the plan was to park the motorhome up there for a few hours as we were been picked up by one of our kids and having a family meal with my children at Puerto Banus at Jack's Smokehouse that I can recommend.

But as I was waiting to be picked up the local police turned up and started knocking on the doors of the motorhomes that were not behind the concrete barriers, suddenly the motorhomes started driving off.

I said to my wife who can speak a little bit of Spanish to go and ask if it is possible to leave our motorhome parked up for a few hours while we went for a meal, not possible the price officer said unless your are behind the concrete barriers,my wife explained that we didn't want to sleep in it, just park, but he wouldn't have it. My wife said it's impossible to ever park behind the concrete barriers as folk never leave, he said they are only allowed to be there for 48 hours, obvious they don't enforce it though.

We arrived at Sierra Nevada 7.00pm Tuesday afternoon after leaving the coast, you can park up on the mountain for €5 a night, accept the booth were someone normally collects the money has never been open.

There is then a shuttle bus into were the Gondala is that you pay €1.60 each way. Motorhomes are not allowed in the actual ski resort. My family and I enjoyed skiing yesterday, but we were in the clouds, so visibility was poor at times, going to be better today, lovely and sunny. It's presently -2 but I set our heating to 15° last night and we were all toasty, two of my grandkids decided they wanted to stop in the motorhome with us last night instead of the hotel, so mummy and daddy could have a date night, the bars were quite lively. We love it up here, skied here a few times, great family resort and I'm surprised how many from the UK are here as well. I don't think I have seen any UK package holiday companies doing this resort, so they must all be independent travellers.

Wild ponies on the hill by the motorhome parking this morning

We will be in Cacares tonight and then have to decide whether to go west into Spain or east to Portugal 😹 Decisions, decisions
Well one of us has got East and West mixed up. Wherever you are going, please keep posting your journey , with photos if possible. 👍

Arrived in Spain this afternoon. Now for the long, very slow drive clockwise around it, into Portugal eventually. then a dawdle into France. Back into England, once the KC3 thing is over.
I'll let all you Royalists get excited over that, I'll be home once the street parties are finished with.
