Italian Gadabout

What was wrong with the Rapido, it looked fabulous?
Turbo went on it v6 merc ,heating went on it twice,Fiona didn't like driving position so it got the boot I must admit lovely to drive on toll roads and very comfy but !

The German and Italians over here, insist it’s pronounced ‘Heemer’.
When I try it, it sounds like I have a Scottish accent!
Can’t go wrong with a Hymer👍
We met a lady when we had the b544 heemer in Oban and she was all over it like a rash with its condition ,I did say to her the hymer was in good nick for its age ,she went off on one she was high up in the Heemer circle and roasted me for saying hymer 😩

Love the pix. Dead jealous.
When do you plan to Grace the shoresof UK again?
The economy needs your spending power.

Planning to return to Blighty on June 9th Paul, although I don’t think we’ll have any spending power by the time we get back!
It is a delight over here, except the roads, I am expecting to have to buy new tyres when we get home😢.
Hope you two are keeping well. xx

Today we were up with the lark, breakfasted, dog excercised, bag packed and off to explore Orvieto.
From the sosta, we rode the furnicular railway (€1.30 per person each way) up to the old town. Absolutely oozing with history and tradition.
Chris wanted to visit the Pozzo Di San Patrizzio, so I said ‘Fine, let’s do it!
How was I to know that it was basically a well, constructed in 1527, to supply the town with water, in case of invasion. The well has steps down to the bottom and then back up again, like about 500 of them! I can’t believe we paid money for the experience!14499351-ACF3-4A6C-865F-98455F3D0D4E.jpeg24786E6F-E666-4ACD-BFD2-5FE39B319D5A.jpegD3F5C09F-4C46-445E-AE19-9FDF7CA134D6.jpegB8F8F323-FFE8-42CC-AB0F-8A87F0790F52.jpegA006C142-ABD8-4150-824C-47879275B465.jpeg

Hoping that you are not being affected by the severe weather to the North East. Link
Certainly not at the moment guys, although there is a Yellow warning for rain and thunder later on today and tbh the forecast isn’t very good until about next Tuesday. Sat here, at the moment in brilliant sunshine, finding it all very hard to believe what is happening in the Northeast.

We've had some really wet weather down here in Sicily too. It rained solidly from Sunday night until Tuesday morning with 1 hour off at 1.00pm Monday! The roads were flooded.

In fact I'd say out of the 18 days or so that we have been here in Sicily on at least 10 of them it has rained.

Good to hear you’re fine.

That’s really sad Graham, but at least we know who to blame!
Guess what, in the last minute it has started bucketing down!!
I blame Bill and Susie!!

Would you like to come back via the Algarve...?
We'd make you most welcome.

Now that DOES sound nice!

Unfortunately we will have run out of Schengen days by the time we get out of France on this trip and need to replenish them ready for our September trip.

Enjoying the photos and trip reports Roger.

You must be gutted that they’ve cancelled the Italian Grand Prix having spent all that money on tyres, wheel bearings and engine tuning!
