I can never understand why some folk are change their motorhomes every couple of years. Wrong build? Perhaps, but then, after making the first mistake, and most of us do, you'd think they'd know what they want a second time around. Someone on here recently was talking about changing 'cos the MOT was almost due. Beggars belief. Still, different folk, different strokes.Jeff, my original plan was to purchase a newer MH with my pension lump sum (when it arrives). When away over the summer we discussed and made a decision to keep our Arto, as we are still very happy with it, it has all the bells and whistles on it from when we purchased 2015. Most importantly, base vehicle has never let us down, even during long hot drives last summer.
Plan is to throw a few ££'s on it, while front wheels are off, I'll have new pads fitted, same for rear, I'll have the engine bay steam cleaned, check for corrosion and fix if and where applicable, then give it a good going over with Lanoguard. Plan is to hopefully keep it going for four year, as when I hit the 70 mark, I will require a medical as the Arto requires C class licence, if a fail, a re-think required. Ultimately though, why change a MH that we still enjoy.
And stop hammering on about free MOT's
I'd change mine if it became decrepit , like it's owner, none repairable. Or, said owner got a sizeable lottery win. And got the 4 wheel off-roader, he's lusted after for years.
I mean no disrespect to anyone. So no one should take offence
