What did you do to your van today?

I've bought the equivalent of some 111kg Refillable Gas in 2 years [and will need to refill 1 bottle before the next trip, so say 120Kg to date]. The 120kg will have cost me around £195, whereas 20 x 6kg bottles would have cost at least £500. That makes my saving £305 on gas, against an initial outlay of £848.73, so a wee way to go before breakeven. But the biggest benefit is the convenience of being able to top up with 3 or 4Kg of LPG when passing a garage with an LPG Pump, and not have to lift almost empty bottles in and out of the gas cupboard; and, having paid through the nose for a 6Kg Calor, the knowledge that you're probably giving them back 15% of the gas when exchanging bottles to avoid running out of gas

Are you sure you have your figures correct
i cannae tell wot I spent the last trip

Stansky got me 2 bottles and one was half full, im still using them 2 or more years later and not had to refill yet, we eat out mostly and only boil water for tea/coffee, i also have a table top oven which uses a cartrage, handy for pissa pies or ready made dinners.

I mentioned this on one of the threads the other day, basically a stick and tie wraps to get off the grass if stuck, but can't find it, but this explains it.

Left him parked up at Glide Rite to get some air on his backside and new springs in the front.
Looking forward to the new ride

Finally finished bogging out Murky and will soon be sobbing to see it go.
Having travelled many miles in many countries it has performed when commercial ones have failed.
Not only the distance, it’s often been carrying a couple of tonnes of stock and equipment.
With love and care it should be enjoying tax free miles into the future.

Opened Betty's door and looked at the work required to get it on the road.
Closed Betty's door and locked it!

New Avitar pic btw.

Prob require brake cylinders all round and pos calipers on the front, if hyd clutch that will be bu--erd to, clutch could be stuck as well.
Clutch done earlier in the year.
Remember me going off road in Scotland?
I used the rebuilt front end to fix Murky, so I had to build another.
Spring brakes on the back, so they may play up.

It's started a couple of times a month to refill the air tanks, we still haven't found the air leak on the rear suspension.
I expect it's a valve leaking internally and hopefully after a couple of thousand miles it will get better.

I’ve decided to make a rack for the back our van so I don’t have to carry the bags of logs inside the van for our fire pit . It’s a bit of a on going project but I will get there in the end but this is it so far. It needs a bit more tweaking but I would think 10 bags of logs + the fire pit should be ok. Don’t worry I won’t be over loading my rear axle.IMG_3686.jpegIMG_3687.jpeg

Funnily enough, my proctologist said much the same thing to me; he would get there in the end, but there would be lots of buggering about and some PITA problems to clear, including the usual $hit ... :ROFLMAO:

Who did the welding Jeff?

Ps, will also save a few bob on funeral expenses 🙏😇🫢

Did you work out the dimensions using log-arithims.😬?
My old Maths Teacher, the infamous Biffo Cotton, used to start a lesson with the question, 'What do we use square roots for? To get the wood to make log tables ...' :ROFLMAO: . 55 years ago, but I can still remember his various sayings; terrible puns, but great aide memoires

Jeff another foot on too that you could get two rocking chairs on there.
Yup! Just sitting out there on the porch, watching the world go by.
