What did you do to your van today?

I was thinking that about sticking the AM/FM antenna in the cable duct in the wardrobe, so I spent some time tieing up the cable bundle in there as far away from the antenna as possible which in fact was no more than 2". That is one of the reasons I was pleased to find that it worked well. I think the metal sticky bit of the DAB aerial would need a metallic base wouldn't it?
Yes it would as its the g plain on half wave length.

On a car windscreen it is easy to stick the coiled DAB antenna on the glass with the metal A frame right next to it. What about fitting one inside or near a wooden panel, or side wall or plastic window? Do you think the metal frame surrounding the car radio would do for the antenna earth plane? Does the coiled antenna have to be close to the earth plane?
Actually they are pretty cheap so I could buy one to try and if it doesn't work I could try another one and so on . . .

Fitted a Mppt controller in place of the PV Logic. Cheers Phil for holding my hand, what ur we doing next?😂20240223_130017.jpg

Set up my tracking as best i could with string and axle stands, still about 1mm toe out and should be toe in, it was miles out set by a garage hence the extreem inside tyre wear, at least a half inch toe out, total di-ks.

Nothing wrong with string and straight timber, it's what I used to do. I once asked a garage to check it later, and they confirmed that it was fine.

I tied string to a axle stand behind rear wheel, then mes sidewall distance each side or the tyre, then at front mes the distance from the hub out to string tied to a second axle stand at front of van, last but least you then take readings of front tyre both edges to you get it correct, check both sides of van, old way but works, some utube vids on it.

Front is the air filter removed from housing, rear is the diesel filter, 2.8 jtd ducato, how the hell does one access filter to remove and replace 🤷 IMG_5525.jpeg

Does having an A-class (you have that?) mean these kind of jobs are real SOBs?
Definitely, access from topside is difficult, topping up oil, pita, topping up coolant, pita, topping up screen wash, pita. On the occasion I have to replace cranking battery, folks can be forgiven for thinking I have been self harming.
