What did you do to your van today?

Yes of course I did Jeffrey, the owner has a family to feed and keep a roof over their heads. Unlike yourself, I couldn’t sleep at night known I was being a financial burden.

I wouldn’t be surprised your man shops at the local food bank, his Bairn’s wearing clothes from a charity shop, you will burn in hell Jeffrey!!!
I was thinking the same Terry lololol

Finally given up on fixing my Truma 6002 Combi boiler. Over the last three years it's had a full strip down and clean over the gas side, a new 12v circulation fan, two new electric heating elements, and two replacements of the power transistor (which feeds the circulation fan) on the main PCB.

The two previous transistors lasted a good few months, putting off the inevitable, but the one fitted yesterday failed within a few minutes and now I've lost any remaining faith I had in it.

New Truma 4E heater ordered today, booked in to be fitted next Wednesday.

New heater been in for a week now and I'm really happy with it. Much better temperature control than before, although still not perfect. Set it to run around 10degC while I'm out or asleep, but on gas only as electric is far too expensive these days. Be interesting to see how long 13Kg propane lasts this weather.

Best part is that the control panel is now at the head of the bed, so I can turn the heat up and put the water on before getting up. Will get iNet unit when they put the SIM card option back on it. Bluetooth version OK, but then I could turn heat up while returning from a long walk.

Ordered more Puriclean to sterilise Freshwater Tank and 1 Litre of Dscale to descale the Trume Heater both were [last done in early November 2022]. Emailed Clear Tabs who replied saying that it will shortly be possible to order both products online, after I commented on the absence of stockists for DScale

Changed some towels i put below the windscreen to catch any damp/water that may run down the back of the dash.
Cleaned all the carpets and rubber mats, where does all the cr-p come from, and dont say my gob. 😂

Replaced the KS Energy 120Ah Lithium Battery with a 230Ah Roamer Under Seat Lithium and upgraded the MPPT Controller to Victron 100/30. If anyone needs a 75/15 Victron MPPT Controller, I have one going cheap!

Watch a guy on YT call Mispronounced Adventures and he promotes Roamer batteries, he does artic winter trips upto northern Sweden, Norway and Finland so his batteries get well tested.

Drained the freshwater tank ready for sterilising and descaling the Truma Water Heater. And then the Fiamma Supplementary Bike Supports for the Bike Carrier arrived ... Fiamma have redesigned them, changing the angle, length and length of the bolt inside the large locking knob, which is now much thinner [and fragile?]. Ended up having to saw a 6mm roofing bolt to replace the new shorter bolts so that the handle would grip the rail without splitting the top of the locking nut handle, and fiddling around with the position of the 2 Support Arms to get the bikes straight in the Rack. Missed lunch and still finished the work in the dark. Had the Support Arms been the same design as the originals, 1 hour's work including playing with positioning on the rails ... I smell the intervention of the Accountants and their penny pinching on materials, e.g. the shorter clamping bolts

The good news is that the new Support Arms and a few adjustments have enabled both bikes to be munted with the handlebars folded down, lowering the bike height by about 15 inches on the rack, so getting the Bike Cover on and off should be much quicker and the Red & WHite Warning Plate sitting square, instead of being squinty!

Tomorrow, back to the sterilising and descaling of the Tanks ...

I tried to replace rear wheel speed sensor for ABS. Gave up after the sensor stuck in the hole and I didn't have it in me to remove the handbrake drum to pull it out that way. My friendly mechanic will do it next week.

Made progress making the cabinet to fit the new Thetford oven above the new Thetford compressor fridge after tossing everything marked Dometic. I am working out how to prevent any possible gas leakage from entering the cabin and figuring the gas connections from imperial to metric.

Surprised you would have any imperial sized gas pipes installed? I would think they would be either 8mm or 10mm? I got a cap for my (Thetford) fridge gas supply from B&Q. Nice and simple.

I would expect there would also be a shut-off valve for the fridge supply tucked away somewhere to turn off, so you have two levels of stopping any gas leakage.

Thanks for the feedback. It's a headwrecker for sure. I have 8mm copper pipe feed and the 1/4" fittings fit well. The inlet pipe to the oven is bit larger - 8.6mm. Maybe 5/16" might be right because the shop only has imperial fittings. I'll head off to B&Q and see what's what there. I also have to check whether the european regulator pressure is compatible.

Well the manual states 8mm inlet at 37
mbar for propane. "When all else fails read the manual". I'll go out and look for metric gas fittings. I think my German motorhome has 50mbar regulator. I might have to get smaller jets. I expect it will be OK though just have to adjust to hotter oven at standard settings.

You sure it’s not 30mbar? I thought the 50’s were on old vehicles but I probably have that wrong, thought Europe had standardised on the 30mbar before my van was built. Give Charlie a shout at Autogas 200, he will advise if you need assistance

I got it all sorted. The pipe and fittings are 8mm. My motorhome is 30mbar so that's all good. My old motorhome was german and was 50mbar. Since the regulator in my Hymer was not labelled with the pressure??? I contacted the garage and was assured its 30mbar. Assumptions!!! Thanks for all the responses
